STRUCTURAL CONCRETE REPAIR
At Slabtec, we continue to provide innovative solutions for all types of concrete repair.
Whether the remediation is the result of deterioration, carbonation, physical spall damage, or defective concrete, our team can propose a solution that will ensure the section’s durability and strength are fully reinstated.
We have strong partnerships with leading product suppliers, ensuring that we only use tried and tested materials in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Concrete structures inevitably have a design life per the relevant Australian Standards, so maintenance and concrete repair will always be required.
However, some sources will expedite the degradation of the concrete, which should always be considered both pre- and post-construction.
At Slabtec, we provide solutions for all types of concrete repair, including:
Corbel Repair of Concrete
PT Anchorage End Pocket Repairs
Concrete Cancer Repair Services
Slabtec is an expert in structural strengthening and concrete repair. It has a proven track record across a range of structures and repair types, market-leading workmanship, strong relationships with leading suppliers, and a commitment to creating efficiency without cutting corners—delivering solutions that work.
Project: Remediation works for electricity generator
Slabtec completed the Stage 2 Remediation works for a major electricity generator.
The project included:
- Hydro demolition
- Steel welding
- Dry spray (gunite) shotcrete application
- Epoxy painting.
Project: Hydro-demolition and Grout injection
Slabtec completed remediation works for a valued client. The project included hydro-demolition of the defective concrete and the use of a form and grout injection method for the final finish.
STRENGTHENING AND REMEDIATION OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES.
Slabtec specialises in concrete structure strengthening and remediation.
With hundreds of successful Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) projects completed, we’ve earned our reputation as the industry leader in the building-strengthening space.
Project: Design innovation for Hotham Street Bridge Bayswater, WA.
Advanteering Civil Engineering engaged Slabtec to chase and install 215 meters of Sika® CarboDur® BC16 rod and 110 meters of SikaWrap® FX-50 to enhance the bridge’s structural strengthening. The project required Slabtec to deliver an innovative structural strengthening solution, perfecting the moulds before executing the end-to-end installation process.
Since the bridge remained operational with one lane closed at a time, meticulous coordination with other trades was essential to ensure every installation was within the required ±10mm tolerance – leaving no margin for error.

Carbon fibre reinforcement for bridges
Carbon fibre reinforcement for bridges represents a significant advancement in civil engineering and infrastructure enhancement. Unlike traditional materials such as steel, carbon fibre is both lightweight and extraordinarily strong, lending itself well to bridge reinforcement. Carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) is resistant to corrosion. It offers superior tensile strength, making it ideal for extending the lifespan of ageing bridges and for the construction of new, more resilient structures.

Project: Structural Strengthening for Racing and Wagering (RWWA).
A recent structural strengthening project was for Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) at their Osborne Park facility. Completed in collaboration with Opra Projects in late 2024, this project involved an essential structural upgrade of a two-level commercial building.
Slabtec provided structural strengthening to the building’s central section, enabling the client to safely cut through the existing concrete slab.
This facilitated the creation of a new internal staircase, significantly enhancing building functionality and safety.

DESIGN SERVICES
Having a leadership team with an in-depth understanding of how structures work and how remedial products can be utilised is critical to optimising the efficiency of the remedial or strengthening work.
From post-tensioned or conventionally reinforced beam or slab systems to core walls or stair walls to masonry elements and many others, we can customise a remedial or strengthening solution for your project.
Slabtec’s design capability allows us to provide a truly turnkey solution for our clients.
Project: Structural Strengthening – University of Newcastle Research Building
During the design development phase, a significant challenge emerged: the need for structural strengthening of an existing concrete slab to support the building’s ambitious plans. This challenge was a critical hurdle requiring precision and innovation to maintain the project’s timeline.
The remediation approach involved designing and implementing a comprehensive system incorporating fire-proof carbon fibre laminate, wrap, and steel plate strengthening elements. This solution ensured the slab’s structural integrity and the seamless progression of the construction schedule.
