Heavy Lifting and monitoring for Wynard Place

DESCRIPTION

Our works for this project involved engaging the facade retentions system to follow the permanent structure upon completion.

The facade retention system was made up of a steel structure supporting both a perimeter facade and a 400t+ clocktower located centrally.

The concept put forward by TTW consisted of a steel-braced central core built within the existing light well and external steel trusses braced back to the central core through window openings. The idea was to hold the iconic heritage structure in place whilst the demolition and new permanent structure went ahead.

The hydraulic jacks were engaged, monitored, adjusted, disengaged and locked off over a period of over two years.

The project consisted of more than one hundred jacking stages completed collaboratively with TTW and Multiplex by Slabtec.
