Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) awarded Advanteering Civil Engineers a $4.6 million contract to upgrade the Hotham Street Bridge in Bayswater, a riverside suburb 6 kilometres north-east of the central business district (CBD) of Perth, Western Australia.
Structural Strengthening – Chasing and Installing for Bridge Barrier Railings
Advanteering Civil Engineering engaged Slabtec to chase and install 215 meters of Sika® CarboDur® BC16 rod and 110 meters of SikaWrap® FX-50 C to enhance the bridge’s structural strengthening.
Slabtec delivered an innovative structural strengthening solution, perfecting the moulds before executing the end-to-end installation process.
Since the bridge remained operational with one lane closed at a time, meticulous coordination with other trades was essential to ensure every installation was within the required ±10mm tolerance – leaving no margin for error.
